The R&GVRRM has a collection of heavy equipment that it uses to maintain the museum. During this volunteer work session, volunteers Joe Scanlon (near side) and Pete Gores (far side) work to get the museum's 1950 Cat D6 9U bulldozer started using the tractor's gasoline pony motor. The dozer was donated several years back and is now being brought back to working shape to be used for some excavation for the continued construction of a new railroad siding at the museum. The D6 was a donation from the Hill family from Twin Hills Golf Club in Clarkson, NY. It is a 1950 CAT D6 model 9U and was bought from Ray Sellick, an equipment dealer in Holley NY. We pick up the process after several minutes of work including bleeding of the fuel system as the diesel engine is being turned over by the pony motor. The museum is always looking for new volunteers to come help us with both our trains and our heavy equipment. Interested? Please check out our website, www.rgvrrm.org, for more information
